  • 1964 Roosevelt Dime anomaly

Good evening, I’ve been waiting to post my 1964 Roosevelt dimes, I have several with The same issues. I hope someone can recognize the errors. What I found is that he has a double upper lip, extension at the forehead, and an upside down triangle protruding from top of the W in “WE”. Some also have what looks like doubling in the “4” of the date. I Appreciate any information.

I am very sorry please disregard the last three photos. They are not of the same coin. I am still starting trying to get used to the forum and posting. I have been using a mobile device. I will try to use my IMac 2024_0612_190637_028.jpeg 2024_0612_190627_027.jpeg IMG_5760.jpeg moving forward. There is no way for me to delete or edit. Again, I apologize the only photos should be of the LIP, FOREHEAD , and W in “WE”

there was an article by Wiles years ago about determining the lips (and forehead?) to be either clashing or counterclashing. that being said idk 100% all of the roosie ddos and if any have actual listable doubling on those spots as primary or secondary diagnostics.

you will find some inconsitency of agreement on some things in numis just like other areas of life so if you get conflicting answers sometimes, this can sometimes be a cause.

going forward, try to take it easy on people offering answers/advice (not saying you haven't been) because some people out there are strung kinda tight and don't really appreciate the years it takes to be able to answer such threads across many numis series. usually the images are not enough in quality or specificity further making it challenging.you seem reasonable is the only reason i mention it so figure it is well-recieved, some people, i just skip over their threads or offer up generic answers if no one else has posted.

you will find some other series that has listed doubling in these areas, also clashing. it is all case-by-case.

happy hunting, numismatics is a BIG arena!

Mama raised me to always say please and thank you and never looked a gift horse in the mouth. I appreciate all the people that know. My careers have been engineering and healthcare. When I’m not sure of a diagnosis, I talk to the people who know. I’m new to coin collecting, but I use the same concept. it seems that coin collecting is much more subjective, I wish there was an algorithm to follow lol. Thank you again and I hope to be a help to someone on this forum someday.
