CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Licoln cent estimated year between 1959 and 2008 perhaps , amy comments welcome.

    It's called an off center strike. The years can be narrowed down by weight. If it is near 3.11 grams, it's copper and if it is a memorial back, it is between 1959 and say, 1982.

    If it's 2.5 grams, it's zinc core, and they were made from 1983 to date.

      Hello Gary, thanks for the info much appriciated, I tried to visit your website but it does not seem to work for unknow reason, furthermore would it be worthwile to have these 2 coins graded and capsulated? You know its quietexpensive .

        What area are you from ? Some people do have issues hitting the website. I am in Virginia, USA.

        In my opinion, sending them in for encapsulation is expensive, and it is up to you to accept the risk, cost and time it will take.

        Most people are concerned about reselling these once they are slabbed. The ultimate decision is up to you.

        If it's about return on investment, the only way to get your money back would be if it came back as an uncirculated higher grade (gem bu) or better.

        If your doing it for peace of mind and something to hold onto, costs may not be that important.

        Lincoln cent off centers were pretty abundant in the 1970s and 1980s. Nickels, dimes, quarters and Halves all were harder to find.

          Hi gary thanks for the info.

          I have some error coins from venezuela certified which I am willing to sell if the price is right, then I aldo have two 50 Lira coins from Italy , one is missing the 1 in the date the other is missing
          the R pictures available on request. I have lots of world coins also which I never revised due to lack of time waithing to go with pension and now that I am with pension I dont know where to start.
          I have shifted awhile back from coins to specialize in Banknotes and especially specimen notes from venezuela all in UNC / AU condition, also very low serial numbers and error bills.
          recently I became interested in U.S. coins. If there are any coins from a specific country you might be interested let me know and I will see if I might have it. Regards, edwin
