1999-P GA 25c
Hope all had a safe and happy Independence Day. I know we don’t discuss die chips, cracks, gouges, or others as much as actual die errors on this forum but being a new collector is this a coin one that I want to save or discard as a common Error? Either way, I’ll probably save it, but it’s good to know if this is something that happens on a regular basis and I should overlook it in the future. There is what seems to be either die chips or some type of anomaly in the letters of moderation. I appreciate your expertise as always, and I thank you! 2024_0704_215312_126.jpegTags: None

In my opinion, they appear very minor. I don't know your magnification osetting, but they look awful faint. It could be the lighting as well. Sometimes all it takes for light to be spot on in a small adjustment.
In my opinion, Collectors are some what starving for coins with issues. A very small amount of errors have escaped the mint since 2003, so the newer collectors think they have something wonderful. The hobby will evolve, and so will the prices. I personally think that die cracks are more collectible over die chips. But either one, I don't see a high premium for them unless they are very dramatic.
I think a certified Lincoln shield reverse with a dramatic crack that went rim to rim, across the shield with some spider style cracks, went for four Ben Franklin's. The coin looked like something Captain America might have been a part of. It almost looked electric. It's gotta be an extremely awesome wow coin if it's die cracks, to fetch some serious cash from seasoned collectors.
As far as lighting goes, I use two desk lamps i bought at Lowes. I use white sheer cloth at different thickness or a white cloth with various thickness. It diffuses the light. Makes it a more uniform light. I'll use a white piece of printer paper to accent an area so it shows up either brighter or shadowy to bring out the intended result.
It might seem a bit overdone, but it allows me to control the lighting better and use less gamma, contrast and gain when the photos are taken. This way the lighting isn't a distraction or a hinderance.
