Thought it was a slug when I first found it. Then notice 2017 and BERT across from 2017. On the other side of the coin I can see the top of a shield. This coin is about 1/8 of a hair larger than a normal dime and weights 1.6 grams. Does not have a reeded edge.

In my opinion, it could very well be a sanded down Lincoln cent, showing the zinc core. If it was a die planchet, the rim side edge should show copper and nickel. With the weight being significantly below a dime or cent planchet, material was removed. It's difficult to know if it was sanded, acid treated, milled or some other science/garage experiment.Gary Kozera
