CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Well, in all honesty what I would recommend is taring your scale. If that does not work I would suggest reinvesting in a new one.

We need photos. If you need help taking photos when using a phone, let us know.

Its difficult to determine what it could be. If the coins look mushy or unfocused per se, the coin might have been acid treated, in the ground or other scenario.

If it looks like ravines on the coin, and parts of the rim are missing, it make have been acid treated.

If it looks discolored and pitted, it may have been in the ground.

There are other possibilities, but let's try to rule out the negative ones first.

We typically do one coin at a time in the forums. In other words, one coin per post to cut down confusion.

I suggest finding another coin of the same denomination and placing it ontop of the other coin, make sure they are close to the same thickness and diameter.

On this forum, you can search for coin weight table and might find the chart with coin weight and the tolerances. Making coins is not perfect and things happen.
