1975 no S dime

Would it be possible to find a 1975 proof dime in circulation? Regular dimes do not have a mirror like field do they?

In my opinion, anything is possible. But, it is an extreme long shot.
Why do you own one, or is this just a simple "what if" question?

It also could be a Roosevelt dime struck in prooflike condition, but, would degrade quickly if it was circulated.

A normal 1975 dime could have been altered like polished, whizzed or other methods. This usually shows up under a loupe with very fine scratches and a somewhat uneven polishing.

It could be someone tries to remove the S mintmark in hopes to defraud someone.

It could be a counterfeit. If a coin is worth a lot of money, the possibility of it being copied or counterfeited is likely.

"Hypathetically" speaking, a person would have better odds pulling a 1943 copper from circulation than an authentic 1975 proof Roosevelt dime with no S. There weren't many made. Less than a handful.

i'll only add i think there are only "2" known 75-s no s 10c.

one sold somewhat recently, was watching a vid about it (and other coin stuff).

sold for like $500k. not sure if it is the pr67 or 8.

it would be neat if one popped up that could be authenticated.

thinking about other NIFC coins that well, end up IC.

you just know for some of the big stuff (especially from the past) it really shows the rough nature of our lives on this planet. fortunes made and lost, valuables degraded by time and events etc.

nothing like seeing a 100k coin in a pf35 holder for example. (which value is much less)

feel free to post some images. try to get head-on, somewhat side angles etc.

while it is beyond almost impossible you have one from circ, i have seen people find lottery odds coins before cuz there is so much info out there now and so many people looking.

i'd feel just retched if it turned out someone had one and i had "spoken" to them and discouraged them only to find out later...
