websitesHi all, I just got a new laptop and when things were transferred over from the old one by the store I lost 3/4 of my bookmarks/favorites. Unfortunately most of what didn't transfer over was different websites to check or learn about coins more. I have Variety Vista but I don't remember any of the others. I know one had to do with Jefferson Nickels. Would anyone be willing to share some of the sites they use? Thanks in advance and sorry if this isn't where this should have been posted.Tags: None

You can also look here. Where all the forums are listed at the bottom is a forum for numismatic links.

there is an option (too late now?) to export bookmarks, passwords etc and then keep a backup. been doing that for 15 years or so now. the files are exceptionally small. then you just import to a new device or after a fresh install/revision.Originally posted by RossMartzall View PostHi all, I just got a new laptop and when things were transferred over from the old one by the store I lost 3/4 of my bookmarks/favorites. if you ever do a "fresh install" of Win OS, you have the option to keep files and they are stored in a file called windows.old or something but you have to reinstall all programs and some (very few) don't like being reinstalled because they are issued only a few installs to prevent sharing.

usb thumb drives are so big in space now yet small in stature and quite reasonably priced, you ought to look them up and get one (if you don't have one). I've been using SanDisk for a while and have a solid 95% satisfaction rate with them and the 5% COULD be partly me not using them fully properly.

Ummm there typically is a favorites folder somewhere on the PC. I am currently on an Android tablet, so I cannot give the exact path.

What I have told people in the past to do is, import their bookmarks into the Microsoft version of the browser... now Edge, back then, Internet Exploder.

Then the favorites folder should have the bookmarks in there. Yeah, a thumb drive to download it and keep it safe, transfer to new pc in favorites folder. Then, import the bookmarks into you favorite browser.

Let's not forget sites like pcgs and ngc. They have the varietyplus and coinfacts information. Maybe if we can gather enough working websites, maybe CONECA can add/update their list here?
