CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Ai inspection station

    I am looking into building an AI coin inspection station with a built in scale - a top microscope camera and a bottom microscope camera...Coins would enter from a slide feeder and the system would weight it - photo it top and bottom and compare it with the AI library for errors and condition...it would then deposit the coin into one of 3 containers - 1. normal coin 2. some kind of error check manually 3. extra fine condition... Do you have any suggestions that would help...If this sounds crazy just let me know...

    Errors are unique, there is no pattern for them. Varieties like double dies and older coins with RPMs may not be detected. A reference library would be needed for the varieties at least.it sounds pricey. I can see a lot of trial and error testing going on...
