CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • method(s) for having coin photos enlarged

I have numerous coins with what I deem as errors, these "errors" include "Die-Cracks", "Filled" dies, "Double dies/Multiple dies", "Extra Materials", "Debris", etc. My problem is I need to have photos taken that will show the details and I have no idea as to how I go about it? Any suggestions? Can I do these myself, and how? thanks for serious insight.

Hi David and welcome to the forum.

Now for your question. A lot of us have our own methods of taking pictures and any one is capable of doing so.

I use an Olympus digital D-460 Zoom, 1.3 Mpixels ( I know, a rather old camera, however, I think it is great) and shoot macro pictures straight from a binocular, zoom (7.5 to 35 X) telescope. I do use an Adobe Photo shop 7.0 to add the finishing touches.

It really isn't that hard and once you get to doing pictures, it is hard to put the camera down.

Hope that this helps and if you do have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Another forum site, Coppercoins.com, does have a photograph section in its forum that you may want to visit it; there is a lot of good information there.
