CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    James Wiles candidacy withdrawal?

    Perhaps this was discussed at some point and I didn't see the thread or didn't see it in time, but I've been meaning to ask about this. After seeing the James Wiles Platform subforum which had his talking points about a run towards CONECA president, and quite a bit of discussion about the club, our assets, possible directions to take with a few different things I got the most recent Errorscope with the ballot and noticed he wasn't listed. Came here and saw that the entire subforum had disappeared as well.

    So what happened? Did Mr. Wiles choose to withdraw his candidacy? Something else?

      Okay, thanks for confirming. Any chance of some of the discussion that was going on in the threads in the subforum for him being placed somewhere on the board? There were some interesting ideas there that might be worthwhile conversation among the general membership. Not trying to self-promote my like one idea, there were a lot of ideas with possibilities there.
