CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

  • Longest Trail on a Traildie..

    Well this is the longest trail I've seen on a cent.I could be wrong but I dout it.. This could be a new die??.

    It's most likely a linear plating blister. It's definitely not a trail.

      So That's What It Is

      I found a Lincoln Penny yesterday with what I thought was very long trails too. So it is called linear blisters. The lincoln penny has them going all the way from west to eaast in a 40 degree angle and they run completely North to South. The interesting thing is that they look like they go under the devices on the reverse, which made me think that it could have been some sort of planchet surface etching but that did not make sense since they would have been pressed out when stamping.

        There are many different errors that can leave raised lines. Without a photo, a diagnosis is impossible.

          Wow I remember this post.Very interesting..Mike Diamond nailed it that this was not a trail die. After learning a bit and studying I became the top trail die finder for nickels.
