CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Can someone tell me if the 6 & the D are doubled?
    Some day maybe I can get better pic's but this is the best I can get for now.

    The mintmark and the 6 digit have been affected by "machine doubling". This link will provide more information on that type of error:

      Thank you, It just looked like at one time the D may have been at a 45 and restamped. The link sure is a help. I am new at this but I have been getting in to this and some of the coins I've looked at are very interesting. Still trying to get though a half a five gallon bottle of Lincolns. Checking pocket change as I go.
