I am in a unique position as an error collector, because my day job has all kinds of wonderful toys which help me figure out various errors, especially those struck on foreign mystery planchets. I am a geologist, and work as a research scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada. My lab includes a powerful XRF, with the metal alloy software package and an SEM capable of quantitative analysis, including cathode luminescence. Perfect after-hour toys for an error collector...
I like to bring science to numismatics, and have published several papers in the Canadian Numismatic Journal. I just submitted my first paper to Errorscope, and once it is accepted for publication, I'll post some pics here.
Glad to be here... looking forward to sharing some neat errors and picking your brains as well...
Roger
