  • 1979 & 1982 cents DDOR or DDD ?

    Hi everyone,

Posted herewith is a 1982 large date cent & 1979 cent. The 1982 exhibits strong spreading on all of the characters and thickness is noted in the obverse same as the reverse. Is this a mint or die variety error.

The 1979 exhibits a curly anomaly at the back of lincoln's hair and at the neck portion the extra design is raised on the field.

These coins were found in rolls.1982b.jpg

The 1982 appears to be struck through grease which may account for the extra thickness that you are seeing.

The 1979 appears to be after strike damage.

      Dear BJ,

Tanks a lot for your reply. But anyway, does it have any numismatic value in the error coin hobby.

      Best wishes,
