CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Cuds-on-coins.com; A new site in development

Some of the authors in "The Error & Variety Education Consortium" felt the need for a more up to date cud reference than is presently available.

As we all know, the Mint's quality control program has curtailed the releasing into circulation of many error types that were found pre - 2000. However, like die clashes, cuds are not detectable by coin wrapping machinery (though I do expect some of the larger cuds to be sufficiently mal-shaped and thus rejected by coin wrapping machinery) and are still making there way into present day circulated coins. So, the need is there to have a continuous up-dated reference for cuds.

Fred Weinberg, Mike Diamond and myself discussed the various ways of having this reference and finally agreed that with today's portable devices that can access the net, a web site would be the best way to go. Not only is it free to the user, but it can also hold almost unlimited data.

Presently, we are working on Cuds-on-coins.com and hope to have the site ready for publication to the net by the winter F.U.N. coin and currency show where it will be introduced.

This is the basic structure of the site and more than likely will have some minor changes:
