CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Hello, I'm a new member

    Hello everyone.

    Like the title said, I'm a new member here on the forums as well as just joining CONECA.

    Today is my birthday and this is part of the gift my wife has given me.

    The other half was that she went on e-bay and bought me a lot of proof coins from 1968 - 1998 inclusive !

    A very nice gift as I didn't have any sets.

    I am new to collecting and am also an ANA member as well as a poster on CCF forums under the same user name.

    I'm interested in Var and error's and do a lot of coin roll hunting.

    I'm still Very new and am enjoying myself very much!

    it's great to be here and will try to post as often as I can. Remember I don't know much so please be understanding.

    Welcome to the forum. I do hope you realize there is an 86% posibility this will turn into an obsession. You have a choice...choose the red coin and you will go about your life....if you choose the silver coin you will go down the rabbit hole, never to return.

      I have already chosen the Silver coin and am making my way through the warren. I've already lost site of the entrance.

        I have been a member of CONECA since Christmas (2015). But have been collecting for about 8 or 9 years now(I have lost track as to how many I have been doing this collecting thing but I do t hink it really matters! Dies it)? Welcome to the wonderful world of oh I didn't know that. I collect many different coin types (among other things) and wonder when the mad hatter is going to send the rabbit with something new (I'm starting to hate that blasted rabbit). I am as well a member of the ANA as well as a paying member of NGC. Anyway I know pretty much nothing about errors or varieties but if there is ever anything I can do to help your addiction, please feel free to ask. Have a Great day (and keep in mind there is No doctor, Witch or drug that can help you NOW!.
