  • How about some new Roosevelt Dime hot lips dates?

I was reading some on the new finds on the hot liped Roosevelt dimes. So I decided to have a look at some of the dimes I had put away some 50 years ago as a YN. I had put together a set of 1964 P&D half through cent in an old Capital holder. Knowing the new find for this variety was the 1964 D I almost did not check the P minted coin. Much to my surprise I found what I believe to be an 64 P hot lip.
A friend of mine just sent me a set of 1947 Roosevelt toned as a birthday gift last week. Once again I checked the lips. Sure enough the P & D both had the same doubling on the lips. I need to send these off to James Wiles for attribution. I will post some images below so you can see my finds. I also found found an 1955 S hot lip and an 55 S misplaced mint mark using an S normally found on a Lincoln cent not a dime. Please see images below. The Image for the 64 P is not posted yet. I need to hunt down the correct folder and post it later. The images are in order the 47 D, 47 P , 55 S & the 55 S misplaced mint mark.

I just did an attribution for someone who sent me two Roosevelt dimes that had "hot lips". Hopefully he will submit them to James.

The first two are of a 1953(P) Roosevelt dime. The last image is of a 1971-D Roosevelt dime.
