1989 designer initals request.

1989 designer initals request.
I found this 1989 Cent with initial's like the 1988. I know it is highly unlikely to have 88 initials on a 89 cent. However, there doesn't appear to be a top bar extending to the left, or a right foot below the curve of the G. What other else could I use to determine if this is truly an 88 on 8 or not. Thanks for any help.
