Hi everyone ! I'm a retiree and got interested in checking coins about 6 months ago -- we old folks need to find something to do to get out of trouble -- and it became a hobby. now. Therefore, I'm a beginner and learning about numismatics which I did not know before. I just joined this forum. The attached photos were taken from a nickel in a pocket change. It has many interesting features and I was amused by the degree the design elements change from those in the master dies to the working dies. Hope you will find them interesting.

CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.
