CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Does anyone here know anything about VAMS? I'm kind of certain that my 1878cc is a VAM9. Didn't check all the markers in scope but it has the key 4th star and tilted right C.

    Sorry I don't know much about vams. But that is a beautiful 1878 CC!

      Coinhunter, Thank you. I believe it will grade 66, 67 at least. The strike and luster are incredible in person. I also have an 8TF VAM8.

        By the amount of hits on the obverse, I don't know about a 67. But maybe a 66.

          Coinhunter, I know what you're saying and these days grading seems like a crapshoot sometimes. LOL. I've seen some 67's that looked worse.
