CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    mint errors verse variety????

I do have a little understanding of the two. With one of the two is better to find. It's my understanding mint errors are.

Well I think it depends on what you like, me personally my main goal is RPM's but when I am searching I look for both. I guess if you are looking to sell what you find mint errors would be the way to go. It all comes down to what you preference is. In my opinion only.

      It is definitely personal preference.
know that since 2003 or so, the US Mint all but eliminated errors from escaping the mint. That does not apply to the rest of the world.

Varieties, well the good ones, in my opinion were minted prior to 1995. The RPMs were eliminated when the mint decided to add the mintmarks into the design elements, no longer requiring mint workers to haphazardly add the mintmark to the working dies.

There are plenty of circulated fake error coins out there.
