The ear of this first photo set 1989 Lincoln cent.
It happened in the mint, due to the sighting of a zinc gas bubble in the middle, unaltered by the missing area. Removal has a remaining portion of the raised earlobe doubled inside. That remaining potion also has the offset doubling from the bottom of the earlobe. Both exhibit offset doubling.
Now to the 1989D. Which shows what happened in that area. With a remaining doubling outside of the designated area of what happened inside the designated area.
There is an oblong hole usually on the left outer ear, in this case it is not, and that hole during what seems a modification of the area inside the oblong shape, is on the right inner ear on the latter 1989D.
