  • The die marker is important. 1970S Cent sideways remaining/removed small 7.

What are the odds, the subject of interest is a small 7, and there is a small sideways 7 image?

The die marker is what was impressed into every working die. The long line of the left bottom of 7. It looks now that it was an impressed die crack running, because this possible original hub impression early enough to show a remaining removal 7, shows an original die crack running down the left bottom of 7.

    2 subjects.

imo, the artifact on the top arm of the 7, is probably PMD which is probably extended to the 0 as the contact line looks to match spot-on.

if you goal is to continue doing this intensive level of study on coins, my humble suggestion, even though your images are pretty darn good is to look into a microscopic objective or a microscope, not the digital kind, unless you are already using one. unless you can get a larger area in focus while being zoomed in.

    something along those lines.

    keep up the good work.

i see you are talking about just the bottom of the 7, not the top. one of them has PMD at the top.

i've always found it neat to find two or more of coins from the same dies and die states! seems to happen a lot with lincolns.
