CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

In my opinion, it's been in the ground. It looks pitted.
Although I am pretty sure thats what happened, clearer photos would confirm.
    Hunh ? ¿ They made a lot of 79 and 79D cents....

Lol...Dang that is a lot!! I was going by the PCGS little virtual bot thought he would be smarter than that Well I know one thing it is apparently a lot smarter than me!...Thanks Gary it's good to hear from you again. It's been a while since I have received a dunce cap from you...hahaha...Naw I appreciate it, the coin is pretty neat though the black on won't (don't kill me) scratch off with you finger nail so it's got to be tarnished. And the pics are remarkable it's because I'm having to shrink them so much for this site to take them.... if there is something I'm missing or a secret that you know please let me know. Thank you again for the lesson. I needed it!
