  • 1982 large date copper Lincoln Cent

Hello again I have a 1982 large date copper Lincoln Cent and I can't remember if extra thickness in the letters is part of this year as far as doubling goes. Liberty looks like it's doubled as well as some of the letters in God we trust. What is under his chin is that supposed to be his beard? It's between the beard and the bow tie. And he's got something on the back of his jacket. Right across the y in Liberty to the right. I looked at other 1982's and I see nothing there. On the reverse it was a die crack under the FG from the rim going into the memorial. The third Bay to the right of Lincoln at the bottom it looks like a big die chip. It looks like a white dot to me and what's going on with the bays of the memorial. And is there any doubling on the reverse. I hope I'm not asking too many questions but I have learned one thing you only dumb question is the one not asked thank you very much

looks like a die crack on the reverse. in the future, please enlarge your images and/or take close-ups.

here is one of the lists of known ddos. http://varietyvista.com/09d%20WQ%20V...DDO%201982.htm

there are other sites as well but they will only be more challenging than the one i linked.

can't tell about a die chip but it does look partially clashed. not uncommon.

once you get some more experience, most of what you are asking about, you will learn, isn't worth asking about.

mostly it is various degrees of extreme that really drives up interest, rarity, value etc but we don't give official grading opinions here nor value estimates/sales prices etc. thems just the rules. there are other popular forums where these things aren't taboo but to some extent every forum will have taboo subjects.
