for sure not a doubled die. one of that magnitude would be monumental and a discovery of epic proportions. it is also extremely unlikely that a doubled die would have a singular device (like the 9) and the 9 only with that much spread.(especially for this time period) so right away, those are the first clues to tell us this is unlikely to be anything good.
there is even a chance it is not even machine doubling but just an artifact from all the contact and grime on the coin. (which is normal for a coin in this condition)
back to the hunt.

take a look at the motto on the 19 p ddo 10c mercury. you will see several of the letters, though the strength changes a bit going inwards but that more than just one letter/device is doubled.coinfacts.com - conecaonline.info - board.conecaonline.org/forum/numismatic-site-links - briansvarietycoins.com - coppercoins.com - cuds-on-coins.com - doubleddie.com - error-ref.com - franklinlover.yolasite.com - ikegroup.info -lincolncentresource.com - maddieclashes.com - money.org - ngccoin.com/price-guide/world - ngccoin.com/census - ngccoin.com/resources/counterfeit-detection - nnp.wustl.edu - pcgs.com/pop - pcgs.com/coinfacts - pcgs.com/photograde - varietyvista.com - vamworld.com

In my opinion, it's simply a form of worthless doubling.

No files were found that dime that you said was dirty was a lot more dirtier then now I brushed it off and it showed that a little I took my thumb the finger print part a got it a little wet and Rubbed off some of the dirt and it still hasn't changed. There's more under the water and the other night. I'm sure but I didn't want to clean it too much. The fact that you're so sure that refer to files that aren't there. I tried looking up what you recommended nothing there

MD_Push_DOubling_.jpg Doubling.jpg
This is a bit more dramatic, but read the statement below the image "MD does not have to affect all of the devices" a very random event happening in under 1 second. Here is a good listing to save as well.

i'm pretty sure you can find someone to submit the coin to if you feel we are mistaken.
but they MAY not accept it (besides the TPGs) if they know it has been posted here as this is kinda a review before submit forum because they know we know what we are doing.
the most inexpesive and still VERY knowledgable and professional is ANACS. what is $40-50 for peace-of-mind.
same with vamworld. they like peer review for the majority of coins because 99% of it can be handled and identified by some good images which yours are good enough for us to diagnose.
