You really shouldn't waste your time on such environmentally damaged coins, Get a box of coins from the bank and see if better conditioned ones are faster to search through. The understanding on how working Die`s are made will preclude any notion of there being a "face" or lions and tigers and bears on coins from the mint.

Yes environmental damage. Severe pitting. It's been in the ground or was eaten up by caustic, acid or chemicals.

Did you notice the exact Material on the back and the different patterns. I get that it's chewed up but there's also something else on it if its too chewed up to be something I understand but there's something else to it.

Lets think about this...if there is something else on it and is chewed up, that something else came from the coins life in the wild, not from the mint.
And that's all there is to it.

All I can do for you is give you the standard of what coins should be when leaving the mint, anything added to a coin after that fact will be environmental PMD.

So you believe it was added after could you please tell me how you know so I can stop wasting your time on coins that are not well a waste of time
