1993 odd wide AM Lincoln cent

Hello Coneca family, I have been on the coin hunt lately and did come across some interesting finds and wanted to share this 1993 odd wide A M Lincoln cent. The M in America appears to have a broken leg causing a space between the A and the M. Could be post damage. I will attach some pictures. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions. I'm hoping that there are others with the same error. Thanks

nice pics. the good thing about wide/close am is the corresponding FG.

when am is close, fg is far
when am is far, fg is close

there may even be other diagnostics but those haven't failed me yet.

i don't recall offhand if the flared FG comes into play with some of these, i'd have to look at my files again.

all but certain that M is pmd like you say.

These are the ones to look for.
      • 1992-P Business Strike Close AM
      • 1992-D Business Strike Close AM
      • 1998-S Proof Close AM
      • 1999-S Proof Close AM
      • 1999-P Business Strike Wide AM
      • 1998-P Business Strike Wide AM
      • 2000-P Business Strike Wide AM
      These are considered "normal" below:
      • 1959-1992 all business strikes and proofs are supposed to have a Wide AM
      • 1993 all business strikes and proofs have a Close AM
      • 1994-2008 all business strikes have a Close AM
      • 1994-2008 all proofs have a Wide AM.

This is Post mint damage. as there was never a design with a broken leg M... The AME, the TAT of states, the shape of the FG, and the distance of the FG from the building are the main Pick Up Points..... the serifs on NE ENT of ONE CENT and the shape of the leg of the R in AMERICA... are also different on the 2 designs... Get a 1990 cent ( always a WAM) and a 1994 cent (always a CAM) and compare them to this pic for how to tell the difference....
