CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

…if this form of die anomaly has been proven to only come from a single squeeze production dies.

I’ve seen it in the 90’s and 2000’s.

The awkward raised tops of the legends during wear.

I just can’t say people would have been so unsure of what comes by them if they had been witnessed through the copper years.

This is not anything to do with single squeeze.... if you look at the opposite side of the coin at that location you will see the biggest amount of design in Lincolns bust.. this coin was struck by a press that did not have a full amount of pressure on it. this makes the metal fill in Lincoln's bust and not the bottom half of UNITED STATES OF... it is like the lack of detail for Jefferson Nickels/Mercury and Roosevelt Dimes/Standing Liberty Quarters/and Franklin Halves. This is why the reverse design changed slightly over the memorial years to see if they could fix this.
