CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1982D and S LINCOLN CENT

    Found this odd looking 1982 D lincoln cent, it ALMOST looks like an S mint mark above the D,but i guess it could be a D. There is DEFINITELY something there, as there is metal raised in the area above the D. ill take a close up

    In my opinion, the shape is more like another D and not a S. Let me see if there is something similar on variety vista.

    Nothing on variety vista or coppercoins.com

    Is it a zinc cent ? If so, and it is raised, could it be a blister or plating issue. It could be a die crack or chip as well.

    When I attempt to zoom in close, the photos get too grainy to assess the area.

      Hello. Sorry its taken so long to get back to you on this coin, to be honest, it had gotten misplaced, and i had never gotten around to weighing it, but its been relocated and weighs in at 3.12 grams,so its a copper coin, and NOT a zinc blister, i will get a better close up for you to add here.
