CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Here are the pictures, (update information on this 1894 Morgan silver dollar, It is a fake 1894, it’s a real Morgan coin but a fake 1894 if you look at the four you can see it has been worked on, or heated up an Re-punched, I sent it in for grading and it came back as fake and that was the issue).

Where did you buy it from ? If it was on an auction house was the seller within the USA?
How much does it weigh ?

Does it stick to a magnet? Warning, use a thick cloth or sturdy plastic between magnet and coin.

It's best to compare the coin yourself to another circulated Morgan. Look at the sharpness and detail of the letters on the obverse and reverse.

Worse case scenario, take it to a gold and silver shop to see if they can test it. If they charge you, tell them you need a letter with their findings. Most should do it for free or a low to modest fee.

I am by no means a morgan expert. But I would say it looks authentic. It also has no MM. This may be that all Philly Morgans had no MM. Does it have that silver ting noise when you drop it?

To me, also, it looks like a cleaned coin unfortunately. Have a good day.

I am only a rollsearcher. Not on CONECA Board
