CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I treated myself to a Xmas present and bought "The Rabbit Hole of the 1909 Lincoln Cent". I suspect the author (Shawn Tew) is one of our members?

Using a cache of uncirculated 1909 cents and the latest inspection equipment Mr. Tew and his team discovered new varieties of the 1909 cent and a 1910 with a 1909 reverse!

Well researched, the book includes correspondence between Charles Barber & VDB covering classic manufacturing Vs. design issues that likely drove die changes that improved die life. Excellent descriptions and photography simplify identifying the different reverses & doubled dies.

Can't wait to dig out some 1909 pennies to test out my new knowledge! Happy 1909 hunting!
