CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Mickey Mouse Coin.

Ok, im just sayin, that the image of Mickey Mouse is now in the public domain.
Im certain that some entrepreneur will adeptly produce some gold and silver rounds with Mick on them. He will be rich.

People will or would spend a fortune on Mickey Mouse bullion, Im sure.

Steamboat Willy (the first MM style) is now public domain.
Steamboat Willy does not look anything like the MM image people think of when thinking about MM.

In my opinion, it really doesn't matter what is stamped on any precious metal - it all boils down to the same thing - It's one once of precious metal. Why pay higher premiums for something if in the end, the lower premium is just as valuable as the high premium stuff. BUT, people like variety and we have to tailor to their buying needs at times....
