CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Retained frosting stencil struck through outlines hub doubled die PROOF

Now that I think about it, meticulous time taken with a stencil for frosting should only be taken for one working hub, which can create many working dies, not that same time for each and every die. That exacto knife cut on E should be raised then, if it’s on a die.
A similar statement missed by those authoring this blog post (LINK) below when asked if “THESE” marks were made by an exacto knife, which were incuse, instead.

(Realistically a left in frosting stencil set can double with pressure tilted because it is a relief struck through.)

Left on proof frosting tape struck through on a hub doubled die.
I got to looking more at what those NOW recognized localized exacto knife cuts each in a place on the left of the letters for stencil stability for localized frosting.

A tilt on upper left N. retained stencil doubled bottom of W.
