Hello CONECA, I am looking at a very nice golden toned 1947D Jefferson Nickel. The coin has been graded by PCGS MS65 (a fair grade for a later fourties nickel. I looked at the mint mark and I am not exactly sure what I am looking at. My first impression was die degridation however the coin is a just miss 5 Full Steps. Any one have any idea what caused this? Thoughts or comments.
