1969 S Lincoln cent doubling
Hello I’m new here. I ran across some of these in a bu roll I have about 12 that look like this and I’m not sure if it’s doubling or machine doubling. There is even some around his nose chin and ear. Any info would be great. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

If the letters look thinner, lower, step or shelf like then it's more than likely worthless doubling.
A doubled die was created (before 1996) by mint workers, doing more than one impression on the working dies so all the features of the coin would be present. If they gave it one impression, took it our to inspect it and then didn't line it up properly and it was a slightly off axis, and added another impression, a doubled die was born. The doubled die should be thicker than the normal letter. Some may show notching/split serifs. Some will show a cookie cutter line where one impression was done over the other.
A doubled die from the 1969-S in easy to identify, just about everything on the obverse is doubled. Most people can see the doubled die with the naked eye.
I suggest going to http://varietyvista.com and have a look at the 1969S Lincoln cent doubled die obverse (DDO). It's one of those wow coins. Compared to most doubled dies, this 1969S is somewhat extreme. There are many out there with far less spread than the best ones ( 1955, 1958, 1969S and 1972 die 1 and die 2). Most others probably require some magnification to see them.
