CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Carol found a whopper!!!!!!!!

    Actually my 12 year old Nadine was helping me search 3 rolls of dollars and she said,"this one has screwed up lettering,and it is a funny color".I jumped up and saw this.We started dancing all around!Mr.Diamond,is this an obverse missing the magnesium layer?It also weighs apx 6 grams!

    Yes, jackpot. The coin is missing the obverse clad layer, which is composed partly of manganese, not magnesium.

        I have saved the mint roll paper from which it was found.The question of course of value ,should I have it slabbed?

          In this case slabbing would enhance its value. It should be worth several hundred dollars.

                ok i just sent our story and hopefully bettr pics and a pic of my nadine too holding her find.I need advice on how and to whom to send this for slabbing.We want to sell it ,so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
