In my opinion, your coin letters might be a bit thicker, but it is probably due to die deterioration. Working dies get old. This coin was probably struck with a late stage working die.We dont have a full photo of the coin, so its difficult to know if it was coin counter damage or something else.
Sac. dollar with "RUS" punched on edge of coin perpendicular to rest of edge letters

Thank you Gary!! I knew a specialist would be able to form a better assessment of the coin if they could inspect it in hand, my pictures definitely were not the best. It just worked out he was able to bring it to the convention IN PA last month and consult with James and Noal while also reaching out to Mike.
I am very excited to have Greg write an article about it and can't wait for the word to spread that even these types of errors/mint damage do occur and exist! If the star wasn't over the U I probably would've passed it off as something that happened after it had left the mint. However, it was the opposite and I'm glad CONECA is around, and will thank Daniel from CoinHelpU for directing me to CONECA!
I found this by buying a roll from a very small Credit Union in Castleton Vermont, I will always encourage people to coinroll hunt, you never know what will be discovered!!
