CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Double strike with no date

Does it make this coin less desirable because it has no date?

In my opinion, this is a single strike off center. It's more than 90 percent off center. Since CONECA frowns on talking about value or grading of raw coins, I will say this....

I have seen many people purchase dated off center coins over non dated. I have also seen many people purchase 45 to 75 percent off center coins more often than coins from 10 to 15 percent off center, or 85 to 99 percent off center. Most people want to quickly identify the type of coin that was struck off center and again, the 45 to 75 percent off centers are purchased much more often.

If the coins are certified by a third party grading service, it removes doubt about the off center being a fake from a country other than the U.S.A.
