    1992 Double Die Obv error?

I am new to coin collecting, my friend got me started. As I was searching thru all my coins, I came across several error Lincoln cents. The one I am asking about is a 1992 D which I believe is a error but I wanted to make sure by asking this forum opinion. I have uploaded a pic of the penny and I have other more detail pictures but I hope this one picture will be sufficient. Thanks!!

The date seems to show die deterioration doubling. This form of DDD is quite common on copper-plated zinc cents.
