2003-P MS 25c planchet
Good evening last one for today. This 2003 – P Missouri quarter has rippling on the Planchet obverse , only at the bottom of the coin where the date is located. I do not see it anywhere else on the coin,

there is a lot of value to looking at older threads.
literally 90%+ of the stuff posted to this forum is posted repeatedly
the site below answers probably most of these inquiries (not that i'm discouraging posting, just more learning)

Thank you yes I would like to be able to diagnose myself. Currently unless I find something similar according to date I get lost online. The problem is I don’t know what anything is called yet. I’m sure this is it not called “rippling”…so when I try to search, I come up with random data. Now I know this type of abnormality on a coin is d/t to a “plating problem”. That will help me in the future if I see it again. I will get better appreciate all your help.

that lets me go through many pages pretty quick.
hmm, tried something different here. (done it on other forums before)
did an empty search just for images.
do you see lots of threads with lots of images?

No sir. It looks like the search was token and time related. It says;
Search Result
Search result already expired, please try a new search.
To replicate, (and for clarity) all you did was hit the search button, and photos only appeared?
As far as the coin, in my opinion, this looks like metal movement towards the rim. Planchet might have been heated a bit too much before the strike. The rippling, if you will almost mimics the bottom of each letter, to me that's strike related.Last edited by MintErrors; 06-28-2024, 05:16 AM.Gary Kozera

thanks for telling me. that kinda bites.
i clicked the photo box in Type and did an empty search title with date from 1-1-23 to the date of that post, which pulled up all threads with an image (i presume) so a person could scan dozens/hundreds of images from chronological? order of threads from all? sections of the forum.
it was just a test run to see if it would work and while it does work initially, a new search has to be performed each time.(i think)
i tried a couple other variations that turned up "breaking" the advanced search feature and forcing me to change/add/remove search criteria.coinfacts.com - conecaonline.info - board.conecaonline.org/forum/numismatic-site-links - briansvarietycoins.com - coppercoins.com - cuds-on-coins.com - doubleddie.com - error-ref.com - franklinlover.yolasite.com - ikegroup.info -lincolncentresource.com - maddieclashes.com - money.org - ngccoin.com/price-guide/world - ngccoin.com/census - ngccoin.com/resources/counterfeit-detection - nnp.wustl.edu - pcgs.com/pop - pcgs.com/coinfacts - pcgs.com/photograde - varietyvista.com - vamworld.com

Yeah, not sure what the search results are limited to.
A simple search, with photos checked and a very specific number of words might do the trick.Gary Kozera
