1944 Quarter Struck-Through Error With Debris?

I tend to find these easier when searching as most of these have a brass/gold color that lures me in.

I’m not sure what object caused this error. I have a few with a cloth struck through where a clear pattern is seen.

This may have been a wire possibly? I welcome your thoughts! This is my first post with photos. Is this the right section for this one?

    Thanks!

In my opinion, most strike thoughs should be incused (sunk) into the coin. If this is raised, it could be a die crack, gouge or chip. With circulation, it could be PMD as well. Make sure the affected area is the same general color. It looks odd going through the motto, just make sure it is not some foriegn substance on the surface of the coin. Its patina looks close to the coins age, so this was not done recently.

Thank you. This is definetly a mint error. I might need to upgrade my photo skills.

The error goes under the 4 in the date and letters in God We Trust. It is partially raised from some type of debris in the sunken area.

I like these errors but like the struck through cloth ones, they are one of a kind so with no two alike there are no comparable strikes. From what I see in other struck through errors, the brass/gold color below the silver is consistent.

In this 1945 struck through cloth example, the damage is also above and below the surface with the same coloration differences. I'll share this one next in a separate post.
