1954 FRANKLIN HALF "ORIGINAL BAG FRAGMENT"

Hello Coneca, I saw this coin offered for sale. I must admit I am baffled at what this is. The coin is graded by NGC MS66! I have a very large Franklin Half collection and half (pun) never heard of this before. I have included some decent pics and need some help identifying the anomally. I am stumped. Thought or comments?

Are you talking about the fragment of the bag that is included on the label to its right side ? Supposedly this bag frament housed Franklin half dollars. The thing about specialty labels is, just about anybody can create one. Lets leave it at that.

How can one tell this is an authentic piece of US Mint bag behind the slab is..... a head scratching experience. Add in that if a person approaches a TPG and says add this to the label...Here is the funds to do all of these slabs. The TPG probably will not complain.

I have seen these before but, they were on Morgan Dollar slabs. People I conversed with questioned the thickness of the material. The owner did not want to crack the slab to compare it to a known good Morgan Dollar bag.
