    Laminatiin error?

After reading Mint Error's excelent post on laminations I found this example for review. At 1st glance I thought this was a cud but the area near the F is a depression in the coin. This in combination with the unusual cracks at the rim make me think this is a lamination error. Would you agree? Coin = uncirculated 1945 S Jefferson. Sadly I realize that the coin is not particularly valuable except for the education.

In my opinion from the photo above, its difficult to say.

It looks like a blob, like something i have seen from a blob of solder. Is that area on the F of OF shinier than the rest of the coin ? That helps determine the difference in patina. See if that area near the F looks like its rolled or curled. Laminations are typically a peeling and are not always flat.

The area near the non-reeded edge is difficult for me to assess. It could be finning or, improper alloy mix and over time a chunk of metal fell out.

A SWAG is, since that blob is in close proximity where the non-reeded edge has as issue, i wonder if some one attempted a repair of that area and failed. Like I said, its a SWAG. Only two things know what happened the potential person who may have done it and the coin itself. And the coin isn't talking.
