Is there a concensus on the 1956-D cent Repunched Date coin?

In my opinion, 1908 was the last year a cent had an RPD.
The area around the 5 in the date is common ground for die chips, die cracks and die gouges.
Although there might be the appearance of an additional ghostly 5, its probably related to some sort of machine related damage.
I seriously have doubts about the US mint recutting working die(s) just so they can run a press for less than a million or so more coins per working die.
There is much higher chance that the coin might have a repunched mint mark rather than an RPD.
Happy Hunting.
