    2002-D Kennedy 50c — Severe 4-Quadrant Die Clash (Unabraded)

"I'm looking for an examiner's opinion on this 2002-D Kennedy. It features a heavy 4-quadrant clash with a prominent 'aura' in front of the profile and a distinct design-protected void near the nose. The reverse shows clear wing-feather ghosting. Both the FG and GR initials remain sharp. Is this a candidate for a new Wiles number or a specialized error listing?" I try to write a tag with each photo. But it's not allowing me to. Photo one "Detailed 'Aura' clash in the field in front of Kennedy's face. Visible from the neckline extending up to the hairline."
photo 2.: "Close-up of the circular design-protected area in front of the nose. This spot remains smooth while the surrounding field is heavily textured by the clash marks.
     photo 3 and 4.

In my opinion, this would be considered an error. James Wiles deals with varieties. You would have to communicate with the people at maddieclashes to see if they have this already listed.

I also have a helpful post in my signature block for taking photos with a cell phone. It may help with getting clearer photos of the potential clash. Somestimes, less light is better. It allows the shadows to enhance the area. Glare from lighting can make it difficult to tell what we are looking at.

Here are some overlays from the maddieclashes site with normal orienation of the working dies.
