CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Hi, This coin has doubling on both sides and something going on with the mint mark, so not double die some might say mechanical doubling I think, but on the obverse Jefferson looks like he is groing whiskers or new type of chia pet. The pics dont show the mintmark 'S' very well if you need more, better let me know.

    Die deterioration. I see no doubling, but if there is any, it would be die deterioration doubling.

      I agree with Mike; the orange peel affect is showing which would indicate a LDS coin. Die deterioration doubling is common in this stage.
