  • 1986 lincoln proof

I recieved a few proof sets the other day to fill in some missing sets and came upon this 1986 proof lincoln cent in the set the photos were taken through the plastic case so they are as good as I would get, the designer initials are FC, I realize that it is probaby a fill die or over polishing, but the letter is so defined it struck me as very curious, especially in a proof. have a look. The last image is of the coin tilted, it shows the slightest reminance of the vertical bar. Thanks

Now that is abrading the die. The next step would have been to take the designer's initials righ off.
