CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I've added some photo's with the reverse's from two 1894 Barber Quarters. One on the left is a circulating strike the one on the right is a proof strike. Notice how the motto is rotated on the proof like your coin except yours has a 'S', but there were no 'S' mints on the proof. So my question would be,

Was that 'S' added to the reverse of a Proof 1894 Barber Quarter?

With the information I've supplied, I'm beginning to believe it's a counterfeit. IMHO

Do have an answer as to why the coin has a proof reverse with an 'S' where it is not suppose to be? If not than in my opinion it's a fake and I can end it there.
