CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

  • 1987 cent reverse strike through error?

    Here's one I just found a nice strike through erroron a 1986 cent sorry wrong title looks like a possible wire strike through to me what do you think?

    I would say it's a strike thru and it doe's look like a wire got in between the dies

      Given that the pillars of the Memorial show post-strike damage, my guess would be that the curved line below the Memorial is also post-strike damage.

        I think I agree with you Mike that was my thought also since there are other indications of post mint damage but the incused image looks to clean to me to be post mint damage ,that 's what's confussing to me.

              I've seen many with this type of damage. If you look at the mark you will notice that it tapers towards the ends, a clear give away that's damage. Not a struck through.
              Most fools think they are only ignorant.
